Elective Surgery Europe

Elective Surgery Europe (ESE) is building on the experience acquired by Management Resultants with elective surgery and treatment abroad in a pilot project for NHS between June 2003 and April 2005.

Nearly 500 British patients were sent by NHS to Belgium for orthopaedic quality of life surgery under a pilot scheme for hip and knee replacement surgery.

Management Resultants recruited up to 10 EPAL's (European Patient Advice and Liaison) to accompany NHS patients having elective surgery in Belgium throughout their journey from the UK to the Belgian hospital, and back.

The EPAL's cared for the patients in many ways:

- Picking UK patients up in London
- Helping them to board Eurostar in Waterloo station
- Escorting them during the Eurostar journey to the Brussels Eurostar station
- Helping them to board special transport from the Brussels Eurostar station to the Belgian hospitals
- Assisting the patients with admission and installation in their room in the Belgian hospitals
- Visiting them daily and caring for their day to day needs during their stay in the Belgian hospitals
- Escorting them back to London on board of Eurostar

Elective Surgery Europe is continuing the EPAL's tradition of highly personalised services and caring in everything it does around treament abroad and surgery in Belgium, i.e. making patients feel cared for as if they were accompanied by relatives or friends throughout the journey.

Elective Surgery Europe (ESE) is a division of Management Resultants cvba. Surgery in Belgium is the web site dedicated to patients interested in receiving health care treatment abroad and quality of life surgery in Belgium.
