Hand contracture (Dupuytren disease) |
|

My name is Hayden Pitt, I am a self employed electrician and suffer from Dupuytren's hand contracture disease.
I informed with my local BUPA hospital. They quoted a price for surgery around £ 1,650, with 4 to 6 weeks off work. I could afford the operation but not the 4 to 6 weeks off work...
It was suggested that I look at surgery in Europe and I found Elective Surgery Europe on the net.
I sent a photograph of my hand and received a quotation for the proposed treatment (needle fasciotomy), which was a third of the cost in the UK.
My fiancé and I flew out on Saturday. We had two wonderfull days visiting Antwerp and Bruges over the wekend (on the picture you see my fiancé, Chantal of Elective Surgery Europe and myself admiring the beautiful gothic town hall in Bruges...).
On Monday I had my needle aponeurotomy treatment, which was done in about 30 minutes. Two hours later we were flying back to England and two days later I was back at work.
Should anyone wish to contact me about my experience, my home phone number is 0121 358 3037.
