Sharon, aged 47 had a full hip replacement on her left hip in the UK. When her right hip deteriorated she was devastated to be told that there was a 12 month waiting list for a hip operation in the UK.
![]() Because the cost of having it done privately in the UK was expensive she decided to have it done abroad. She did some research and finally contacted Paul at Elective Surgery Europe who gave her a quote which was half the price in the UK and made all the arrangements for the trip and the operation. “Whenever I emailed Paul with any problems he would email me straight back to reassure me”. The hip resurfacing operation went very well. “The next morning I felt good all I wanted to do was get out of bed which was such a big difference from my other hip.” Two days after the operation she was walking around with sticks with the help of the physiotherapists and on the third day she tackled the stairs and could walk about with one stick. She advises anyone who is contemplating such an operation to “have someone go with you for the duration of your stay as it can feel very lonely. You will also need help with the journey home”. “I’ve been home 1 week now and looking back its the best I’ve ever done. Every day is an improvement. I’m almost pain free, still on my stick but it won’t be for much longer. If anybody would like any advice please do not hesitate to contact me on 01646601941. Paul has been such good help through this. He’s been so kind and offering advise when needed”. P.S. The following article was published in www.allaboutyou.com about Sharon's experience: ![]() |
